Like a RoC

What do you do to get perfect skin? Ask your friend with the perfect skin what she does, of course. My friend Neera probably did nothing besides be born from the right gene pool and have naturally radiant, well, everything from hair to lips (gorgeous beeotch! :-), but I did take her up on the eye cream she uses.

What’s so great? This cream is easy to apply. It is super smear-y (not thick and cakey) and absorbs right into your skin. Does it help? Who really knows—I tend to think that skin is a factor of everything from hydration to rest to what your mom gave ya. That said, yes, I do think it helps. I think that I’ve noticed a difference in the amount of fine lines around my eyes and how often I see those lines over the time I’ve used this cream. I also like the price. For about 20$ (I get it on Amazon with the Free Shipping Saver deal), I have a tube that lasts me awhile. I’ve gone through about two tubes in two years. I should also point out that it does contain Retinol, which is a no-no when prego.

While I am on this post, ladies, what do you do? Any good skin tricks?

DiorShow Blackout - Keyword: Waterproof!

So Amy's last post prompted me to share my fave mascara - Diorshow Blackout waterproof mascara, which is only available at Sephora.

I love this stuff! My upper lashes are fairly thick but really short, and this helps lengthen them a bit and separates as well. As for the waterproof - come heck or highwater (or a bucket of tears) this mascara will still be on your lashes. You do need a good eye makeup remover to take it off - soap and water doesn't do the trick.

My only gripe comes in with the "keyword" I mentioned above. If you buy this in the Sephora store, the boxes for the waterproof and non-waterproof versions of this look the same. So, last time I went in, even after double-checking, I somehow ended up with the non-waterproof version, which bleeds if you so much as blink. I've suffered through the tube for a month (my husband asked me if I was going for the Snooki-look after figuring out what happened... smart man), and now I have the waterproof on the way (via a website order - no chances this time).

Negativo

I have the first product AVOIDANCE recommendation: L'oreal Carbon Black Voluminous mascara.

Why? It runs everywhere!! Every time I wear it, I finish the day looking like a raccoon. Being that I am constantly on the go and seldom check my make-up in the mirror, this is completely unacceptable!

I am removing this item, effectively immediately, from my beauty arsenal & suggest you steer clear of it too!

Steel Grey- Rimmel

This nail polish lasts about 1 week tops, but that is really saying something considering I basically wash my hands for a living. But, more than that, I get compliments on the color from young and old alike. And, you can't beat the price!!!!

Salve...

Not a super glamorous post, but this stuff is magic... It's original intent was for protecting my babies bottoms from diaper rash. (Only 1 case of diaper rash in 2 years with 5 babies!!) But now it's a joke about how I use it for EVERYTHING! I use it on my lips at night (makes them super soft)... I use it to moisturize crusty summer time heels... I use it on my ankle bones when applying self tanner so they don't turn orange...

Basically, if you have anything dry this is the "salve" you need!! It's very similar to Vaseline, but I find it not as greasy.

Orgasm

Nars Orgasm. I have not put another blush on my face in over a year. I LOVE this stuff. $26 at Sephora

Although I am also dying to try this one...  But everytime I'm actually AT Sephora they are all out of it. Why don't I just order it online?? Nars Duo: Orgasm Blush + Bronzer ($36)

Probably because it's $36 and I can use my normal Orgasm blush in combonation with the good $5 blush bronzer from Walgreens (brand is escaping me right now)...
